Sheep Industry Fund Accelerate Bursary
The Sheep Industry Fund (SIF), in partnership with SA Livestock Consultants, is committed to building the capability of the next generation of livestock professionals and supporting those passionate about the sheep industry.
10 SIF Accelerate Bursaries are available to agriculture teachers, university students and early-career professionals to attend the SA Livestock Advisor Update. The bursary is designed to help participants accelerate their industry networks, knowledge and career progression by connecting with experienced livestock professionals, industry leaders and like-minded people.
Applications close Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
Adam Spencer
Artificial intelligence (AI) is much more than ChatGPT or Claude & it's rapidly changing how consultants think, anlyse information, solve problems and create value for their clients. Join Adam Spencer (yes ex Radio host, TV personality & a leading voice in AI) for a fast-paced, entertaining and thought-provoking 90-minute exploration of how AI is changing the world of consulting and what that means for livestock advisors.
This session will explore how consultants and professionals in other industries, are already using AI to work faster, uncover insights, improve client conversations and tackle complex problems. He’ll then turn the focus to agriculture: what livestock consultants can and should be doing with AI today, where the greatest opportunities lie and how to get started.

Rapid Fire
Session 1 - Bianca Agenbarg (SARDI)
Virtual fencing has entered a new era in South Australia. With recent regulatory changes now allowing approved systems to be used for cattle, what could this technology mean for the state’s livestock industries?
Bianca will provide a high-level look at what has changed, what virtual fencing currently looks like in SA and where it may take livestock management in the future. This timely session will help advisors understand the evolving landscape and prepare for conversations with producers about the opportunities ahead.
Session 2 - Halter
This session will move to see what virtual fencing looks like beyond theory and out into the paddock. Hear directly from a producer who has put technology to work: what prompted the move, how it was implemented and what happened when the virtual lines went live. Expect a candid account of the wins, challenges and lessons learned and practical insights into the real virtual fencing game and what this could mean for your livestock businesses
Session 3 - Jim Walsh (Coopers Animal Health)
Footrot remains one of the sheep industry’s most costly and challenging animal health issues. Effective control starts with the right knowledge and a clear plan. Jim will unpack the latest thinking on footrot, from recognising and managing risk to supporting effective prevention, treatment and control strategies. This practical session will equip livestock advisors with timely insights to strengthen conversations with clients and help producers make confident, informed decisions.
MLA Pasture Update
Pasture remains at the heart of productive, profitable and resilient livestock businesses. This MLA pasture update will highlight current developments, emerging insights and the key issues advisors should have on their radar.
